Escape 2 Cooma

After our 10 days at Eden, we drove to our next destination of Cooma.  We took our time getting there with a few stops along the way and of course we had a few roadworks to contend with.

Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoo near our caravan at Cooma

We were very excited to see these Cockatoos in the pine trees above our van at the caravan park.

There were only a few and we only saw them on the first day but they certainly enjoyed the pine cones and devoured them quite quickly too.

The original Delaneys Hut in the Snowy Mountain National Park was built around 1914 but was destroyed by fires in 2003 and has been rebuilt recently.

DAY TRIP To GREEN BAY LIGHTHOUSE

Green Bay Lighthouse
From our "home" in Eden at the Gateway Caravan Park where we were booked in for 10 days, we decided to see as much as possible from our base there, so we set off  for Green Bay Lighthouse at Disaster Bay.  The road to the lighthouse was a fairly rough dirt road and we were very pleased to get to the lighthouse in one piece.  We weren't able to do the tour as we hadn't made a booking but we were able to walk around and there were great views from the pathway.
There was a short walk on a fairly good path to the Lighthouse and a couple of cottages which are holiday rentals.
